Welcome to Brittany, sea kayakers from Great Britain, Spain, Germany, Éire, Belgium, Italy Nederland, France… !

union Jack
During June 2009 the French kayakdemer association held a very successful gathering in Brittany. Following from this Kayakdemer.eu has decided with other sea kayak associations to organize a first Brittany Kayak Festival in the Aber region of Finistère in Britanny, during August 2011
Now we organise the segond BKF 10-18 August 2013
The Plan is simple: to gather paddlers of all levels for one week of paddling in Brittany.
The week will allow people to paddle together, and will create connections between European paddlers.
A base camp will be set up on the coast with direct access to the sea. There will be good camping facilities and other necessities can be found nearby.
Guides with local knowledge will lead organized trips every day, but of course everyone can be on their own schedule too.
The idea is to gather every evening, exchange experiences, and party…
We will welcome you with a genuine Breton fest-noz on the first evening, and the week will end with a traditional meal: roast wild boar, just like in the Asterix books.
Beginners and intermediates and non-participants will not be excluded: the Aber region includes perfect places for a gentle paddle with wonderful views and the opportunity to observe birds and sea life.
For experienced paddlers there a wide variety of sea conditions (currents, Atlantic rollers, surf…)
For the whole week the pass is 80€ per Adult and 40 € per teenagers (12-18) Child under12 free.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Brittany next August.

Just in case other people are interested in the answer to the questions of Riitta & Andrea :
( Philippe, edit/comment this post if I say something wrong, I’m not the boss here
The 80 euros include everything (except perhaps beverages in one of the meal ?). Besides access to the camp, the feast on the last day and the giant « aperitif » on the first one, everybody cares his/her own food etc, like « in the wild », except that since you make new friends all the time, it’s party time all the time ! kayakdemer is a non profit organisation. Trips are self organized between paddlers, with local paddlers of course taking a predominant role, and no fees are involved. This is one example of the French exception !
Michele (An Italian guy happy to paddle in Brittany
And yes, the campsite is against the beach
Hello from Finland to Kayakdemer Assosiation!
We are planning kayaking for the next summer with my italian friend and we found this very interesting festival. If we succeed to participate we would be coming by a camper with the kayaks on the roof. I saw the photo, are the campers able to drive near the beach ?
To be able to plan the budget I would like to know what is included in the 80 € : the staying in the base camp, how about the meals the first and last evening ? Other days everybody makes their own food ? What is the cost of the organized trips?
With our best paddling regards we look forward to your kond answer.
